Betul: There is big news from Betul in Madhya Pradesh. In fact, after having a love marriage with a Dalit youth here, a nursing student of OBC cast has been cleaned by her own father by bathing in Narmada. The couple has now demanded their protection from the police for fear of honour killing in the case. The entire case is said to be from Chopana police station area of the district. In the case, the girl has appealed to the police to protect her from family members including her father. On the other hand, police have registered a case against four persons including the father.

As part of the information received in the case, Sakshi Yadav, a resident of Chopna in Betul, married a young man named Amit Ahirwar, a resident of Betul, at Arya samaj temple last year. The victim is 24 years old and informed that on March 11, 2020, a 27-year-old Dalit youth living in Tikari area of Betul had a love marriage in Arya Samaj. After the wedding, the family with the help of the police called her back from her in-laws and then sent her to Rajgarh for study. She is currently staying in the hostel.

On October 28, she fled the hostel and reached Betul with her husband. Now, in this case, the girl alleged that the father took her to the Narmada river on August 18 and got her cleaned half-naked in front of 4 people.  All this was done for purification after marrying a Dalit youth. Not only that, she is now being pressured to divorce her husband and marry another man. However, she has also accused the police of having met her father in the case while her husband has feared that he would be killed. Police are now investigating the case.
