In Hathur, Ludhiana, a woman and her lover are accused of strangling their spouse to death early on Wednesday. The woman stated that her husband passed away from a heart arrest the following morning.
Inderjit Singh, 38, of Jhordan village, a priest in a gurdwara, was found slain, according to the Hathur police of Ludhiana Rural's inquiry. Both his wife Kirandeep Kaur and her lover Hardeep Singh of the Abdullapur Chuhane Kalan hamlet were detained by police. The victim's relative was Hardeep Singh. The accused has admitted to the offence.
According to the police, the wife put drugs in her husband's tea, and after he passed out, Hardeep strangled him. The woman had turned off the house's CCTV cameras before committing the act.
In response to the victim's mother Balvir Kaur's allegation, a FIR was filed. She complained that Inderjit arrived at her house after a religious gathering on Tuesday night. She had visited the gurdwara on Wednesday morning to pray. Around 8 a.m., she came back and was horrified to witness Kirandeep sobbing and her son laying lifeless.
She informed the police that despite Kirandeep's claims that he had a cardiac arrest, the body had no obvious signs of trauma. She didn't file a complaint, though.
The postmortem result indicated that the man was strangled to death, and police focused their attention on the deceased's wife, according to Sub-Inspector Hardeep Singh, SHO of Hathur police station.
Police discovered throughout their inquiry that the house's CCTVs were left off between 11.30 p.m. and 2.30 a.m.
“Police then detained Kirandeep for questioning and she confessed to the crime. She said that her husband had come to know of her affair and so they plotted the crime,” the SHO said.
