Women visiting Mahakumbh beware. Your images may be recorded secretly, filmed while bathing or changing clothes and then put up on sale on Telegram. Travelling miles to take the holy dip at the grand event and while being in that vulnerable moment, you are shot from various angles. It is then shared on social media, more to lure viewers as a bait for more such explicit content.

Multiple videos of women bathing and changing clothes at the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj are being uploaded online on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Telegram and Youtube. The videos further lead viewers to have a complete access to women bathing on the Telegram channel.

There are some facebook pages that promote pornographic content. They are posting these videos of bathing women captioning it- Mahakumbh Ganga Snan Prayagraj, along with hashtags like #mahakumbh2025, #gangasnan, #prayagraj, etc.

In a video, a woman was bathing with her buttocks being exposed. The woman was unaware of being recorded, and the person who was shooting it zoomed in on her body. The videos and images have been posted with trending keywords related to Mahakumbh. However, not all the photos and videos are said to be of Mahakumbh, some of these have been shot prior and are been shared as visuals of the event.

Moreover, two telegram channels are offering an access to the private groups that have the recorded images and videos of the women by charging sum ranging from Rs.1999 to Rs.3000. The groups are named as “Ganga river open bathing group”, “Hidden bath videos group” and “Open bath videos group”. The images and videos show women changing clothes or covered in towels.

Notably, a significant rise has been observed on Telegram with a search term “open bathing” in India from February 12 to February 18 as reported by Telemetrio, a telegram search engine and analytics platform.

To mention, the same telegram channels are offering access to the women patients being examined at a maternity hospital in Rajkot. Police has already began with its probe in the matter in Rajkot. Some of the channels uploading videos of Mahamubh deleted their content after the matter came to notice.
