Bangladesh: Sri Lanka won their first match in the Women's Asia Cup on Sunday, despite the UAE giving them a huge scare. The match was cut short by rain, but Sri Lanka won by 11 runs.

After Mahika Gaur (3/21) and Vaishnave Mahesh (3/15) held Sri Lanka to 109/9 in 20 overs, UAE was well on its way to reaching the goal at 20/1 in its first four overs. But when rain changed their goal to 66 runs in 11 overs, the batters didn't step up and they only got to 54/7.

Chamari Athapaththu, the captain of Sri Lanka, chose to bat first in her 100th T20I match, making her the first woman from Sri Lanka to do so. She was the first player to fall, as Mahika got rid of her on her second delivery.

The next person to leave was Hasini Perera. A quick throw from Theertha Satish got him out in the first over of Suraksha Kotte. Harshitha Madavi had the highest score, 37, before losing to Vaishnave while trying to get out of the infield.

Vaishnave then got her three-fer by beating Kavisha Dilhari and Nilakshi de Silva. Mahika, on the other hand, got rid of two more Sri Lankan batsmen, bringing their score down to 109/9.

After four overs, when Esha Oza was out for UAE, they were 20/1 and Esha Oza was out. Rain stopped the game at that point. When the game started again, the DLS method said that UAE had to score 66 runs in 11 overs.

That's when UAE started to fall apart under the pressure. Kavisha Egodage hit a ball from Dilhari to mid-off, and Theertha Satish was out because Sugandika Kumari caught and bowled him.

From there, things went downhill for the UAE, and they lost by 11 runs. Kavisha and Inoka Ranaweera each took two wickets for Sri Lanka, which did well after losing to India by 41 runs in their first game.
