New Delhi: India has jumped 63 places to rank 63 in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business ranking. This ranking has been revealed on Thursday. Significantly, the counting of votes for the Vidhan Sabha elections in Maharashtra and Haryana is going on and it is big news for the Modi government before the results are out.

The Make in India scheme and other policies of the Modi government have attracted the attention of foreign investors. India has also been included in the top-10 performers. India has made it to the list for the third consecutive year. This ranking has been released at a time when the Reserve Bank of India, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and several different rating agencies have cut India's economic growth forecast. Everyone says that due to the slowdown in the international economy, the economic recession in India will have the most impact.

When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for the first time in 2014, India was ranked 142 on the list of 190 countries. India was included in the list of top 100 in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Rank in 2018 due to the four years of reforms. In 2017, India was ranked 130 in this list.
