London: bowler Jason Holder-led West Indies team will have to return their lost glory in the World Cup when they take the field against the five-time champion Australia on Thursday on the fast bowlers. The two-time champion West Indies had piled up a mere 105 runs to Pakistan in the first match to win by seven wickets. Oshaan Thomas, who had four wickets, got the full support of Andre Russell, Sheldon Cottrell, and Captain Holder.
As per the information received from sources, West Indies had defeated Australia in the final of World Cup 1975 and had four fast bowlers in that team. Four years later, in the final at Lord's, West Indies beat England and retained the title. That team had Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Colin Croft, and Joel Garner. The current team does not have a fast bowler of that status but without Kemar Roach and Shanshan Gabriel to wrap up Pakistan cheaply, its bowlers proved how much they have.
With this, Australia beat Afghanistan by seven wickets in the first match but will clinch the challenge in front of them in the match. For the West Indies team, who have won two of the last three T20 World Cups, Thomas was out cheaply to David Warner in the practice match. One of West Indies ' weakness is that they use a weapon like a bouncer again and again.
