The West Indies were all out for 140 runs. Kapil Dev had the best performance in the World Cup. In the final, Kapil Dev took an excellent catch while running long behind. The West Indies' innings were shattered as Richards was out. The real hero of the match was Mohinder Amarnath. Mohinder Amarnath took three wickets for 12 runs. Chasing a victory target of 217 runs set by the hosts, India were bundled out for 151 in 45.1 overs. He was awarded the Man of the Match award. Team India won the title with their superior performance.
