New Delhi: World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a statement in this regard after traces of new coronavirus were found in the cargo of packaging food imported in two cities of China. Regarding this, the WHO says that no concrete evidence has been found so far, on the basis of which it can be said that eating can also spread corona infection. However, four times before, the WHO has retracted claims over the Coronavirus.
Mike Ryan, head of the WHO's emergency program, said in a statement that, "People should not be afraid of food, food packaging, or distribution of food." The US Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture said in a joint statement that "there is no evidence that people can contract the coronavirus from food or from food packaging."
The virus can survive for two years at a temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius. However, scientists and officials say that there is no firm evidence that frozen food can spread corona infection. The Brazilian company said that they were not formally informed by Chinese authorities in this regard.
