New Delhi: The countdown for the much-awaited ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final match on June 7 has begun, but India's bowling attack against Australia still remains a mystery. The Kangaroo batsman is preparing to face India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, but doubts remain about the inclusion of veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who recently took 25 wickets in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, in the playing XI.

Australia's assistant coach Daniel Vettori believes that Ashwin will not be able to make his place in the team due to the many options available to Team India. India had played three spinners during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy series on the subcontinent. Ashwin (25 wickets) and Jadeja (22 wickets) were in excellent rhythm, thanks to which Team India won the series  2-1, but the pair of Jadeja and Ashwin could not make an impact in the WTC final against New Zealand in 2021. It remains to be seen whether this time the pair will be given a chance again or the selectors will give more importance to the pace thanks to spin.

"Ashwin is an incredible bowler. He will be the first choice in most teams, although due to his combination, it (he not being selected) can happen. We expect the Oval pitch to behave the same way it used to. It's a good wicket, but as the game progresses, it can give the spinners a lot."
