In the Indian mobile market, Chinese company Xiaomi has once again managed to overtake Samsung and take the top position. Xiaomi has taken the No. 1 position with a 28 per cent market share in the second quarter of this year. This is stated in a report by market research firm Counterpoint. Both Xiaomi and Realmi are trying to make a big way in the offline segment. In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi's growth has been 6 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Xiaomi's market share in the last quarter was 29 per cent and its shipment was down by 2 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

Samsung's market share in the second quarter this year has been 25 per cent. Samsung's shipment slashed by 7 per cent on a year-on-year basis, but on a quarterly basis, shipments increased by 30 per cent. The a&M series has a great performance because of the boom in shipment. With a market share of 11 per cent in the Indian smartphone market, Vivo is third. Realmi, on the other hand, finished fourth. Chinese company OPPO (Oppo) ranked fifth with 8 percent market share. In the second quarter, the Indian smartphone market received 3.7 crore smartphones. However, the feature phone market declined by 39 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

In the feature phone segment, Reliance Jio topped the list with 28 per cent market share. Samsung's market share has been 21 per cent and Lava's market share is 12 per cent. Intel's market share in the feature phone segment was 10 per cent, while Nokia's market share was 9 per cent.
