Yoga Day: Defence Minister holds celebrations at INS Vikrant

New Delhi: Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh performed Yoga on board INS Vikrant, India's first indigenously built aircraft carrier, on the auspicious occasion of International Yoga Day where hundreds of Navy personnel were present on the occasion.

Armed forces including Agniveers participated in the event embracing the spirit of unity and well-being. Defence Minister also felicitated Yoga instructors after the event.

Admiral R. Hari Kumar ;Kala Hari Kumar president of Naval Welfare and wellness association along with other senior officers of the Indian Navy and the Ministry of Defence were present on the occasion.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed different Asanas for nearly an hour and joined personnel in their performance and led the celebrations on board the sprawling aircraft carrier. 'Agniveers' also performed yoga in unison, embracing the spirit of unity and well-being.

The Indian Navy also streamed an exclusive video of The Indian Navy outreach activities emphasizing the theme ‘Ocean Ring of Yoga’, while Indian Navy units that are deployed in the region of The Indian Ocean will visit the various parts of the Friendly Foreign countries to spread the theme of International Yoga Day and message of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ .

Later Mr.Rajnath Singh also inaugurated then ’Integrated simulator complex(ISC) Dhruv’ at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi. ‘ISC Dhruv’ was significantly built as a simulator for enhancement of practical training in The Indian Navy a statement said. ’Dhruv’ hosts modern state-of-the-art indigenously built simulators.
