Lucknow: People of Uttar Pradesh is going to get a big shock once again. After making electricity expensive by 12 percent, the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission will soon introduce a new tariff of electricity rate in the state. As soon as the new tariff comes into force, the facility of 10 percent exemption in electricity bill given to rural domestic consumers who have shifted from unmetered to metered will be eliminated five years ago.

Actually, this feature has been scrapped by the commission in the new tariff. On the other hand, this tariff has also been increased by 25 percent in the electricity rate of rural consumers. In a way, the maximum burden of the new tariff has been put on the rural consumers. Let us tell you that electricity rates in Uttar Pradesh were increased earlier.

Yogi Adityanath's government has decided to increase the electricity rates in UP by 12 to 15 percent. The government has announced new rates on Tuesday. Domestic electricity rates have been increased by 12 percent, while urban areas have been increased by 15 percent. The industrial area has been increased by 10%. In rural areas, the fix charge has been increased from 400 to 500.
