Lucknow: Yogi government 2.0 of Uttar Pradesh is going to get the marriage of 11 thousand daughters of the state. Dates (June 10 and June 17) have been fixed for organizing mass marriage ceremonies in various districts of the state. Under the Chief Minister's mass marriage scheme, each district has been given a target to conduct mass marriages. The government will give a grant of one lakh rupees for the marriage of each poor daughter.

Responsibilities for the arrangements have been divided in the mass marriage ceremony. Women's groups have been entrusted with the task of grooming the brides. After marriage, the state government officials will send off the daughters. Women from Self Help Groups will handle the functions. A mass marriage ceremony has been organized in Gorakhpur on June 17. It is estimated that 250 daughters will be married.

In mass marriage ceremonies, marriages are performed according to the customs of different communities and religions. It was only after coming to power in UP for the first time in 2017 that CM Yogi Adityanath started the mass marriage scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to eliminate unnecessary demonstrations and extravagance in marriages, as well as to arrange such marriages of daughters of poor families, in which district VIPs are involved.
