Lucknow: To expand air services in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government of the state has set a target of constructing more and more airports. The state Civil Aviation Department director Surendra Singh said on Wednesday that at least one airport will be constructed in every division of the diocese.

According to media reports, Surendra Singh said that the aviation sector will not be confined to Noida alone, but the state's CM Yogi Adityanath has planned to develop it in the entire diocese. For this, the government is planning to build an airport in every division. Surendra Singh said that there are a total of 18 divisions in the diocese and our plan is to construct 20 airports in the next two to three years. In the western up alone, the government has decided to build one airport each in Saharanpur, Meerut, Aligarh, Noida and Moradabad.

He said land acquisition for Meerut Airport can be done soon. Thereafter, the work will commence here. Work for Saharanpur, Meerut, Aligarh, Noida and Moradabad airports in western up is to commence soon. He said that the operation had already commenced at Hindon Airport. Additionally, we have plans to build airports in the cities of Eastern UP like Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra, Shravasti and Ayodhya.
