Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government has taken a major decision in favour of the state's daughters. Married daughters will now be entitled to government jobs from the deceased dependent quota. CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday approved the proposal by cabinet by circulation. The state had so far provided jobs to sons, married sons and unmarried daughters on compassionate grounds under the deceased dependent quota.
In the absence of provision for married daughters, they were not able to get jobs on compassionate grounds on the deceased dependent quota. There were many cases where families faced problems because of having only a married daughter. Such cases also reached the court. After which CM Yogi took cognizance of the matter and agreed to change the old system to add married daughters to the definition of family.
Based on this, the Department of Personnel had sent the Recruitment of Dependents of Deceased Government Servants (Twelfth Amendment) Rules, 2021 for cabinet approval during the Uttar Pradesh service. CM Yogi approved the proposal by the cabinet by circulation. With the Yogi government's decision, the state government departments have now opened the way for married daughters to get jobs on compassionate grounds.
