In this way, by observing Yogini Ekadashi, all the pleasures in this world are accompanied by the attainment of heaven. Yogini Ekadashi is virtuous in all the three worlds and observing this fast has as much importance as 88,000 Brahmins get food. So let's know the story of Yogini Ekadashi.

Yogini Ekadashi Katha - In the city of heaven called Alkapuri, there lived a king named Kubera. He was a Shiva devotee, so he used to worship Shiva daily. A gardener named Hem used to bring flowers to Shiva to worship him. Hem had a beautiful wife named Vishalakshi. One day he came with flowers from Mansarovar, but due to being a worker, he began to humor, and delight his woman. Here the king kept looking for flowers till afternoon. Finally, King Kubera ordered the servants to go and find out the reason for not coming of the gardener, because he has not yet brought flowers of worship.

The servants said that Maharaj, he is a sinner and a transgressor, must have been doing humor with his wife. Hearing this, Kubera got angry and called him. Hem appeared before him trembling with fear of the king. King Kubera got angry and said- 'Hey sinner! You have disrespected my venerable Devadidev Mahadev, so I curse you right now that you will bear your wife's separation and go into the dead land to become a leper. ' Hem fell from heaven due to Kuber's curse and he fell on the earth at that moment. As soon as he came to earth, his body became white leprosy. His wife also disappeared at the same time. After coming to the land of death, the gardener suffered great sorrow, wandering in the terrible forest without food and water. While wandering, he reached the ashram of the sage Markandeya, who was older than Brahma and his ashram looked like a gathering of Brahma.

Hem went there and fell on his feet. On seeing him, Markandeya Rishi said, what kind of sin you have committed, due to which you have become this condition. Hem narrated the entire story to the sage. Hearing this, the sage said - Surely you have told the truth in front of me, that's why I tell you a fast for your salvation. If you observe this fast on the day of Ekadashi called Yogini of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month, then all your sins will be destroyed. Hearing this, Hem was extremely pleased and prostrated the monk. The sage raised him with affection. Hem methodically observed Yogini Ekadashi as per the statement of sage. Due to the effect of this fast, he came to his old form and started living happily with his wife.
