He said that by doing so, Chowdhury has violated the tradition of the House.
The winter session of Parliament began on Wednesday (December 7). During this time, the ongoing deadlock between the government and opposition parties over the distribution of chairmen of parliamentary standing committees came to the fore. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in Parliament, 'Many facilities are provided in the House for the opposition. You have abolished the tradition of the House which has been going on for so many years and taken away all the standing committees from the opposition.'
Congress leader Chowdhury further said that this government is taking away the rights of the opposition. This is our tradition, it is our right, which we should get. Why is this happening? This was our tradition, but you are ending this tradition. On this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla told Adhir Ranjan that you are a senior member of the House. There are also senior Congress leaders. Asking Chowdhury, he said, 'Is the Speaker accused of the matter of the House? Is this tradition? You have violated the tradition.' The Lok Sabha Speaker further said, 'You have violated the tradition of the House by challenging the chair of the Speaker.
