Mayak Shah, senior category head of Parle-G Company, says that if the current trend continues, then the price of biscuits may see a decline of 10 to 20 per cent in the coming time. Shah was asked why the company was considering prices amid rising inflation. On this, he said that now the prices of agricultural products are gradually decreasing. Wheat rates are also coming down. At the same time, the prices of palm oil have also started dropping.

This is the reason why the company is considering reducing the price of its biscuits. For the last one-and-a-half years, companies had no other option but to increase prices. The supply chain was affected due to Covid, which became a major reason for the rise in prices. Its impact was also seen on sales. Many companies had also suffered some losses, but now margins have improved. If the company now drops in prices, they will not have to bear any loss.
