Youth murdered over cricket dispute, one died due to stabbing

Gopalganj: In Bihar's Gopalganj district, a man was attacked with a knife in a dispute over a cricket game. Four days later, youth Ankit died in the hospital. On Saturday morning, people from the other side pelted stones at the relatives who were protesting with the dead body on the road. Thereafter, there was tension on the spot. Some policemen were also injured in the stone pelting. There is also news of police firing in the air.

City Police Station President Lalan Kumar said that there was a dispute between the boys about playing cricket 4 days ago. Thereafter, on Friday, all gathered in the playground near Basdila village and started fighting after scuffling. Due to this, 20-year-old Ankit Kumar, a resident of Pasrama village of the city police station, died in Sadar Hospital during treatment. While 22-year-old Hariom Prasad, Shivam Kumar, and Chandan Kumar of the same village were also badly injured. 

Two of the injured persons are being treated at Sadar Hospital. While the doctors referred Hariom to Gorakhpur Medical College in critical condition after first aid. The police station chief told that the police are camping in Pasarma and Basdila villages. Raids are being conducted to arrest the boys who attacked. Hariom's condition is worrying. After Ankit's death, on Friday, his family had created a ruckus at the Sadar Hospital demanding the arrest of the killers. The family said that the police should immediately arrest the killers. After that, the relatives took the dead body and started protesting on Saturday morning as well. Only then the people of the other group started pelting stones at him. This created a situation of tension in the area. Police used mild force to calm the matter and also fired in the air. At present, the situation is being told under control.
