The Signature Device list is Google's way of telling users which phones offer the very best multimedia viewing experience. While all phones claim to offer the best experience on them, the fact is only very few devices support the high-end formats that YouTube offers.  In order to join this list. a handset must be able to playback HDR, as well as be compliant with 360-degree content and support flawless playback of high-frame video. Apart from this, devices must also be compatible with the VP9 profile 2 for video decoding which enables devices to consume 30% less bandwidth without affecting video playback quality. Signature devices must also support YouTube’s own DRM for premium video content.
