Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is as popular in the film industry as her name in the cricket world. She is the mistress of Kings XI Punjab in IPL. She is seen cheering her team in every match. On January 31, on her birthday, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who was the captain of the team, wished her a happy birthday.

In 2008, Preity Zinta took ownership of the Kings XI 20-20 cricket team of the Indian Premier League along with Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman and others. As of 2009, Priti was the only woman owner of the IPL team. She still appears in the match with her team. Preity also joined the IPL 20-20 held in Dubai last year. She had given the reason behind this in the India Today Conclave regarding the ownership of the IPL team. She had said that she wanted to open a sports school. It was the dream of both her and her father to open a sports school.
