After months of speculation, Zac Efron has finally revealed the truth about the claims that he had plastic surgery last year. His jawline allegedly changed last April, and many claimed he appeared to have undergone cosmetic surgery while filming an Earth Day PSA. However, the actor was honest about his facial change in a recent interview with Men's Health.

The Baywatch actor acknowledged that his face has altered over time, but he said that it was primarily due to the fact that his face and jaw muscles had to work extra hard after breaking his jaw in November 2013 when he fell down at home. The actor further disclosed that in order to recuperate from the injury, he had to consult a physical therapist. Talking about the masseter muscles, the actor added, "The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big."

Zac further said that it was his mother who first informed him about the rumors of plastic surgery after internet users couldn't stop talking about his metamorphosis. Speaking to Men's Health, he said, "If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do. I definitely wouldn't be able to do this work."

In the same interview, Efron also spoke about the impact of Baywatch on his life as he spoke about the body image challenges he faced while shooting the film. The actor admitted that while trying to get in shape, he began to experience insomnia and for a considerable amount of time, fell into a "pretty bad depression."
