KIEV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is expected to conduct "much larger operations in the east of our state," asking civilians to brace themselves for a new round of attacks in the midst of the continuing conflict.
The President remarked in his most recent nightly video address: "They can unleash even more missiles and air bombs against us... However, we are anticipating their activities. We'll get back to you." After the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces indicated on Sunday evening that Russia was preparing for an offensive operation in the eastern Donbas region, Zelenksy issued a warning.
"Russia continues to reorganise, bolstering its command and control system and military logistics. The Russian occupying forces are relocating battalion tactical units from the Eastern and Central military districts to the Ukrainian border regions of Belgorod, Voronezh, and Kursk "The General Staff said in a statement, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.
It further alleged that Russian troops were experiencing a number of issues, including a shortage of replacement parts and certain types of artillery ammunition, as well as problems with the system of material storage and supply.
Meanwhile, according to the BBC, Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate stated that Russia has intensified its "mobilisation" campaign in the Donbas region and has begun to draught males who are not eligible for conscription.
