NEW DELHI: Emine Dzhaparova, the first deputy foreign minister of Ukraine, has handed over a letter from President Volodymyr Zelensky, addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting additional humanitarian supply, including medicines and medical equipment.
Dzhaparova indicated that Ukraine will permit foreign medical students to take the Unified State Qualifying Test in their home country in relation to the issue of Indian medical students. Dzhaparova briefed Sanjay Verma, secretary (West) for external affairs, on the state of affairs in Ukraine during their meeting.
The Ukrainian minister also proposed that re-building infrastructure in Ukraine could be an opportunity for Indian companies, official sources confirmed further.
Verma mentioned that among other things, India would give Ukraine school buses in addition to having given Ukraine medications and medical supplies.
The two sides agreed to hold the next round of Foreign Office Consultations in Kyiv on a mutually convenient date.
Sources claim that Dzhaparova and Verma had bilateral discussions about economic, military, humanitarian help, and international topics of mutual interest.
It was decided that the next Inter-Governmental Commission between the two nations will take place in India on a mutually agreeable date during the meeting between the Ukraine minister and Lekhi.
