Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sought India's support in the implementation of his "peace formula" during a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi reaffirmed his appeal for an immediate halt to hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.

During a phone discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy requested India's assistance in putting his "peace formula" into action.

According to a formal statement, Modi advised Zelenskyy that in order to resolve their disputes amicably, both sides should return to negotiation and diplomacy. He also assured Zelenskyy of India's support for any peace initiatives.

Zelenskyy said in a tweet that he relied on New Delhi's help for the implementation of his "peace formula," which he had put forth during a recent G20 conference in Bali.

"I spoke with @PMOIndia Narendra Modi over the phone and wished him a prosperous #G20 presidency. I first presented the peace formula on this stage, and I now rely on India's support for its execution. I also praised the UN for its cooperation and humanitarian assistance " he added.

Zelenskyy proposed a 10-point "peace proposal" to end the conflict, which called for punishing war criminals, removing all Russian forces from Ukraine, and re-establishing his nation's territorial integrity.

In the plan, he also called for securing energy security, food security, and nuclear safety, adding that after all the "anti-war measures" are put into place, the parties should sign a declaration proclaiming the end of the conflict.
