Zoya Akhtar is a filmmaker who directs film like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadakne Do. Also she is busy in direction of web series made a point to pay more to writers than any other stream of film making.

Zoya says, "I don't think there's a dearth of good writers. I think there is a dearth of producers who want to pay writers. You have to invest in something for it to grow and for it to get better and bigger. You cannot expect writers to give you great work and original content, but pay them nothing."

She continued saying, "They are doing five jobs so obviously they are lifting stuff. The problem is that everybody thinks that they can write. They don't respect the medium enough. Until you don't invest money, how is it going to get better?"
