Aizawl: Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) working president K Sapdanga said that Mizoram has been continuously under Mizo National Front (MNF) and Congress for more than 30 years, but nothing has changed under their rule. He said that his party is determined to bring "change" in the political arena of the state by establishing a new system.

We will not follow the policy of "monetary distribution" in the name of development like theirs (MNF and Congress)," Sapdanga said at a press conference in Aizawl. He alleged that the system of "distribution" adopted by both MNF and Congress It has only corrupted the minds of the people, which in turn affected the entire political system of the state. It is noteworthy that the Congress during its 10 years of rule between 2008 and 2018 under its flagship program New Land Use Policy (NLUP) 1 lakh was distributed to the eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, which was later converted into the New Economic Development Policy (NEDP).

During the 2018 election campaign, the MNF had also promised that it would provide financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to eligible families under its flagship program Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP). However, the MNF decided to form the government in December 2018. After said that the aid would be distributed on a project-based basis, but not on "cash". Sapdanga said his party would not use money on the pretext of development to woo voters.
