5.4 magnitude earthquake jolts Taiwan, no casualties reported

Taipei: Today, Taiwan was hit by the 5.4-magnitude earthquake but none injured in the incident, said, US Geological Survey.

According to US Geological Survey, “ the quake hit at 5:55 am (local time) and was centred 81 kilometres east of the city of Hualian at a depth of 10 kilometres”.

Earlier, Central Taiwan was hit by 6.3-magnitude quake in June 2013 killing four people and caused widespread landslides.
