 PM Modi graced with his presence the centenary celebrations of the Patna University (PU) here along with CM Nitish Kumar for the first time after the the JD (U) returned to the NDA fold.

“It is a day of great honor that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is present for Patna University’s centenary celebrations,”  CM Nitish  Kumar said addressing the crowd.

Previously, the Prime Minister was received warmly by Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik and the CM Nitish Kumar among others at the Patna airport from where he drove directly to the Patna Science College campus.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also initiate development projects worth over ₹ 3,700 crore during his visit.

This is the Prime Minister’s first full-grown official tour to the state since the BJP became a part of the ruling partnership in Bihar in July this year after    Nitish  Kumar-led JD(U) break its alliance with Lalu Prasad’s RJD and the Congress.

PM Modi insist on alumni outreach for universities

Urging universities tap their alumni network to gain funding; Modi said that alumni play a main role in driving any university. He said that position and pride that comes with alumni always assist a university. He added that the alumni culture is in its infancy in India, reiterating that universities need to tap them to look for funding and stop being reliant on government for funds.
