Vadodara, Today, Gujarat Finance Minister, Saurabh patel had a discussion with Union minister Suresh Prabhu over the state government's prospect of selling surplus power to the Indian Railways.

Yesterday, According to Patel, that "he held a meeting with Prabhu in New Delhi and discussed the prospect of Gujarat selling surplus power to the Indian Railways, which has been buying electricity from private firms beside state-run electricity boards of several states to meet its demand".

"We discussed that Gujarat can offer its surplus power to the Railways. The meeting was positive as Prabhu has asked Railway officials to discuss the offer with the state government officials. Several power plants in Gujarat are staring closure due to lack of demand," Said Patel .
