SC directs UP, Haryana govt. to give security to witnesses in Asaram rape case

The governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana today have been directed by the supreme court to give security to the witnesses in Asaram Bapu case.

The bench was hearing the plea filed by the lawyer of four witnesses which is when it directed the order. The bench was headed by Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri including Justice Ashok Bhushan. The petitioners advocate Utsav Bains as per the sources news sought  Special Investigation Team (SIT) or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged murder of various witnesses in the case.

In 2013 the Jodhpur Police arrested Asaram Bapu and he is in jail from that time. A teenager accused Asaram of sexually assaulting her.
