Varanasi stampede: Uttar Prdesh CM Akhilesh Yadav orders probe

Lucknow: Today, an official investigation has been ordered by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Akhilesh Yadav in connection with the Varanasi stampede which alleged 25 lives and left over 100 people wounded.

According to a government release, “the chief minister has constituted a one-man inquiry commission to probe into the stampede”.

“The commission will be headed by retired Judge of Allahabad High Court, Justice Rajmani Chauhan, who has been asked to submit his report within two months”, the release added.

On Saturday, around 25 citizens, mostly women, were died in the stampede on the overcrowded Rajghat Ganga bridge in Varanasi.
