Today, the limit for the e-wallet has been doubled by the RBI, which will be Rs. 20,000 from now. Also, it was declared by the Reserve Bank of India that the amount, which can be transferred by the merchants, will be up to Rs 50,000 per month.

RBI said, “the relaxation will be applicable until December 30”. With this, government also announced that no service charge will now be imposed for use of debit cards. 

According to Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, “till December 31, 2016, no service charges will be levied on debit cards and that the move is meant to ensure greater penetration of digital transaction”.

Sudden decision of demonetization taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8, left everyone in panic state.
