Justice 'Jagdish Khehar' took oath as new Chief Justice of India

New Delhi: Yesterday, the tenure of Justice T.S Thakur ended. Today, Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar sweared the oath and took the position of Chief Justice of India in the office . On 19 December, President Pranab Mukherjee declared his name.

The 64-year-old Justice will be the 44th chief justice. In the oath ceremony, along with President Pranab Mukherjee, PM Narendra Modi was also present.

Yesterday, the retirement party of T.S Thakur held which was attended by Jagdish singh khehar and judges, lawyers and employee were also present at the party.
