Narmada river was also known by the name of Rewa, it counts in a fifth longest river in Indian subcontinent and third largest river which flows through whole over India after Godavari and Krishna. It is also known as “life line of Madhya Pradesh”.

Narmada form traditional boundary between North India to South India. Only three rivers, Tapti, Mahi and Narmada flows from east to west, in peninsular region. Narmada originates from Narmada Kund, Amarkantak plateau. Its length is approximately 1,315km.

Its major contributions to several cities- Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Mandhata, Barwani, Omkareshwar, Barwaha, Maheshwar, Mandla, Bharuch, Rajpipla and Dharampuri.
