The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued a notice to Janata Dal (united) leader Sharad Yadav for his statement on women.

Yesterday, while speaking at an event in Patna he said, "there is need that people gets educated about the bollot paper. Honour of vote is bigger than the honour of daughter. If a daughter loses its honour, the village loses its honour and if a vote is sold then nation also loses its honour."

He stated this controversial comment while addressing a gathering in patna on the birth anniversary of former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur. Many are asking him to apologise for his statement. The leader is also a member of Rajya Sabha.
