On Thursday, Government has announced that from 3rd December onwards, the use of old Rs 500 note will be stopped in petrol pumps and airport. From upcoming saturday, the same will be applied on highway tolls.
Before that usage of note was to be till 15th december. Digitial transaction facility is available at all the tolls.
The ministry said “Now, therefore, as digital transaction options have been increasing across different sections of the economy, it has been observed that the outlets of the oil and gas marketing companies are better equipped to accept payments through digital means,”.
