Mangalore: A hospital in Karnataka refused to accept old notes for the release of Union Minister Sadananda Gowda brother's body. Yesterday, the brother of Minister died at the Kasturba Manipal hospital in Mangaluru following a severe jaundice.

Later, when Minister offered Rs. 60,000 to hospital in the denomination of Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 to take his brother’s dead body with him, but the hospital denied to accept as the notes were abolished on November 8. The Minister then reminded the officials of hospital that the limit of accepting old notes has been extended to November 24 and the hospitals are bound to accept it, but they denied to take.    

Sadananda Gowda said to medi, that "If hospitals don't accept old notes, then I can understand how much patients will suffer. I will decide what action to take, based on their written refusal to accept the banned notes from me".
