New Delhi: Delhi Waqf Board chairman and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Okhla Amanatullah Khan was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday in a corruption case. The ACB had recovered illegal pistols and Rs 24 lakh in cash from two locations of Amanatullah Khan. At the same time, a video related to this incident has surfaced, in which Amanatullah Khan's supporters are maltreating the ACB team. After Amanatullah's arrest, his partner Hamid Ali was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday under the Arms Act. The Rouse Avenue Court has sent AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan to 4-day remand in connection with irregularities in the Waqf Board. Amanatullah Khan is alleged to have illegally appointed 32 people to the Waqf Board in violation of all norms and government rules. Amanatullah Khan has been accused of corruption and favouritism. Amanatullah Khan is also accused of illegally renting out several properties of the Delhi Waqf Board as its chairman. The AAP MLA has been accused by the ACB of misusing funds of the Delhi Waqf Board and this includes grants-in-aid from the Delhi government. Delhi Police has informed that three FIRs have been registered after the ACB raid, out of which one FIR has been registered against Hamid Ali. Hamid Ali is accused of having a gun on his premises without a licence. Along with this, cartridges were also found from Hamid Ali's premises. The ACB chief had on Friday informed that illegal movable and immovable properties of Amanatullah and his business partners have been revealed during raids at MLA Khan's premises.
