Amritsar: An incident of murderous clash between two sides has come to light at Gurdwara Sahib in Faridkot district of Punjab. This violence has happened over the post of president of the gurdwara. The initial argument turned into violence and swords (kirpans) went up between the two groups. Some people have also been injured in this clash. According to reports, a meeting was convened at a Gurdwara Sahib in German Colony, Faridkot, regarding the post of president.

The meeting was attended by the current chairman and committee members as well as former presidents and committee members. Meanwhile, when the current president of the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee was addressing the meeting, a debate broke out over the chairmanship of the former president. The argument turned into a murderous struggle through a fight. In this, both sides attacked each other with swords (kirpans). Turbans of some people from both sides were also tossed during the clash. Also, some people and a couple who were intervening have been reported injured. Faridkot police have registered a case against 9 people under different sections. The statement of the woman injured in the clash has also been taken. Also, 3 people have been arrested and are being questioned by the police.

At the same time, the current President of Gurdwara Sahib, Jaswant Singh, says that the other side had come to Gurdwara Sahib only for the purpose of creating a ruckus. The violence took place during the ongoing religious congregation in Hazuri of Guru Granth Sahib. He alleged that 'We have been attacked even by raising religious weapons placed in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The former head had done a scam of Rs 50,000 in Gurdwara Sahib, so he was fired. He has attacked me many times before. Today he tried to kill.'
