Chandigarh: A blast took place on Monday (April 8) just a short distance away from the Golden Temple located in Amritsar, Punjab. However, no information about injury or any other damage has been revealed in this. Police say that it was a crude bomb blast of low capacity. The explosive was put in a cold drink can and hanged. This is the second blast near the Golden Temple within 2 days. According to media reports, the blast took place at around 6:30 am on Monday, 800 meters away from the Golden Temple. The echoes of the blast were heard up to 1 km away. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police team along with the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and started the investigation. Police say that this blast of low density happened due to crude bomb. The bomb was put in a cold drink can and hanged. The police have not found the detonator in the investigation so far. Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Dayal has told that it is too early to say anything about the blast. Police is also probing this blast from mischief, terrorism and personal angle. Police say that law and order is completely normal and under control. Media has also been requested to publish the facts after official confirmation. Let us inform that on Saturday (May 6, 2023) also there was a blast in Heritage Street in the same area of Amritsar. The distance between the two blast sites is just 10 metres. About 6 people were injured in the first blast. Initially it was being told that there was an explosion in the chimney of the restaurant.
