CID has sent them a notice under Section 41A. Under that section, if the offense is proved, the accused will have to pay a fine of 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh in cash. Ranganayaki said, 'A Facebook friend of mine made a list of questions asked by the national media and posted it on Facebook. I thought it was worth sharing. I took his permission, copied it and posted it on my wall. But I have no bad intention to discredit the government. I just thought that people will know what the national media is presenting.'

Regarding this matter, he told, "I do not have much knowledge to analyze governmental action. What I want is that all victims should get justice. I believe it will happen. I do not know why the CID filed a case against me. I am not aware that my post was so inflammatory. TDP leaders gave me moral support." He said that he will also increase legal support. TDP leaders led by former minister A Rajendra Prasad went to his house and assured him of full support.
