During the security patrolling in Mirgund Pattan, about 30 km from Lal Chouk, the soldiers knocked on the door of a house. The door opened and the commander of the patrol asked the landlord something and in a short time two children came out. The soldiers asked the children their names and then gave them some books, painting material and toys. The children thanked and the young men moved forward. This is not just an incident of street-locality, but a campaign to reenergize the Army in Kashmir from the areas adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and in the militant-infested areas within the Valley.

In lockdown, he is befriending children with colours and books. That is why in the streets, security personnel are often seen talking to children or distributing books, toys to them. Painting competitions and other activities are also being organized for them. The security forces are working to make contact with the children so that children are protected from the negative effects of corona infection and lockdown and new colours of expectations are filled in their lives.

On this matter, a spokesman of the Ministry of Defense said that children are being ignored somewhere in the lockdown. In urban areas, children have many means of entertainment. There is the internet, you can enjoy TV, but children in rural areas in the Valley do not have such means. Children are not able to play outside the homes due to the possibility of infection. In such a situation, this campaign has been started to make them aware of the principle of physical distance, and through them to create awareness about cleanliness throughout the family. Our jawans and officers are distributing stationery, indoor sports goods, painting articles among children in their fields.
