A person who has been infected with the coronavirus is also at risk of getting infected by the dead body. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Tuesday that the existence of coronavirus (Covid-19) is slowly decreasing from the dead body. However, there is no specific period to declare a dead body as non-contagious yet. That is, no research is available on how many hours or days the coronavirus will end in a dead body.

Apart from this, the top health research body said in response to a question that it is not possible to tell how many days the infectious period of Covid-19 is in a dead body. Therefore, ICMR states that it is advisable to adopt the necessary precautions and non-invasive autopsy techniques when handling the dead body of coronavirus infection.

ICMR has released some guidelines on Tuesday. It has been said that in the coronavirus patients who are required to do a post-mortem, there is no need to adopt the traditional method. Excessive leakage of organs can result in serious risk of infection to doctors, the staff of mortuary, police personnel and body crematoriums.
