Assam NRC: If your name is not in the final list then do this work within 120 days

Guwahati: The final list of the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) in Assam has been released at 10 am today. The list has been released by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The final list contains the names of 3.11 million people. There are about 19 lakh 6 thousand people who are excluded in the list. In view of security, strict security arrangements have been made throughout the state. Section 144 has been imposed in most of the areas including Guwahati, Dispur. 51 companies of Para Military have been deployed in the area.

On the other hand, 19 lakh people who are not on the final list of the NRC can appeal to the Foreign Tribunal. However, it will have be done within 120 days. At present, there are 100 Tribunals functioning in Assam. According to information, 200 more tribunals will be set up. The tribunal will start taking applications from Monday. The Foreign Tribunal will be able to appeal to the High Court and the Supreme Court if they do not find a place in the NRC.

On the other hand, Delhi BJP unit president Manoj Tiwari said on the NRC list that those who have come to India illegally will have to go back. The citizens of the country need not be disturbed. The initiative taken by the Home Minister will help us to rein in terrorism and reduce crime. He also said that it is very important to have NRC in Delhi too.
