Lucknow: On November 4th, a YouTube news channel called News Galley released a video discussing the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in 2024. In this video, an individual identified as Ayaan Qureshi made controversial statements, referring to Hindus in derogatory terms and making claims about the potential difficulties they might face once a Muslim-led government takes power at the center. These statements led to a significant outcry on social media. As a response to the video's content, the Ghaziabad Police took notice of the situation and detained Ayaan Qureshi for questioning. According to ASP Naresh Kumar, they are in the process of registering an FIR against the accused, and further investigations are underway. In the video, Ayaan Qureshi, who resides in Rafiqabad, a small locality in Ghaziabad, mentioned that he operates a meat shop. He used offensive language towards Hindus, stating, "You keep saying Hindu-Hindu, tell me where are Hindus. The real fight is between Jews and Muslims. What are Hindus? They will get crushed like insects when the time comes," seemingly making a reference to the Israel-Hamas conflict. He went on to say, "You can change the names of places like Prayagraj and keep doing that. However, when our government comes, it will all be reversed," and added, "Inshallah Islam zinda tha zinda hi rahega (Islam is thriving, and it will remain forever)." Ayaan Qureshi also accused Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of favoring Hindus and working against Muslims, asserting that if a Muslim-led government comes to power, leaders like CM Yogi and other Hindu figures will be imprisoned. He claimed that there has been no development in the past nine years since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power at the center. Furthermore, Qureshi criticized the government for the closure of meat shops during Hindu festivals, stating that his shop remained closed for six months due to these events. He questioned the practice of shutting down meat shops in Muslim areas and suggested that they should be allowed to operate continuously. He argued that both Hindus and Muslims who run abattoirs are unfairly targeted. Ayaan Qureshi's controversial statements, particularly his derogatory language regarding Hindus, generated widespread outrage on social media platforms. Many individuals called for strict actions to be taken against him, and the Ghaziabad Police subsequently detained him, as mentioned in a follow-up post on social media.
