Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has granted bail to former Congress MLA Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, one of the main accused in the famous Bhanwari Devi abduction and murder case, while the other accused were adjourned till August 23 on their bail plea. A single bench of Justice Dinesh Mehta on Tuesday granted bail application to Malkhan Singh Bishnoi. With this, 9 out of 17 accused in the much talked about kidnapping and murder case have been granted bail so far. Former Minister Mahipal Maderna, the main accused in the case, is out on bail due to health reasons. It may be recalled that Parasram, one of the accused in the case, was granted bail by the Supreme Court last month. The Supreme Court said it had been ten years, but the hearing still did not seem to be complete. Citing the Supreme Court order, Malkhan Bishnoi's lawyer argued in the high court that it has taken such a long time to hear the case and the accused has already spent 10 years in judicial custody. Maderna's bail plea in the case is also pending before the high court. It will be heard on August 23 along with petitions from some other accused. Tell you that nurse Bhanwari Devi went missing in September 2011. Her husband Amarchand had alleged that Bhanwari was kidnapped at the behest of Water Resources Minister Maderna in the then Congress government. Later, Amarchand was also found involved in the case. CM Ashok Gehlot had removed Maderna from the post of the minister after a CD of Maderna and Bhanwari Devi went public. After which CBI arrested Maderna on December 2, 2012.
