Patna: Mob lynching incidents have increased considerably in Bihar in recent times. Two innocent people were killed in the rumours, while many were injured in the mob. Taking a lesson from these incidents, the Bihar Police has decided to launch a public awareness campaign. DGP Guptaeshwar Pandey is telling people that those who are involved in the rumour mongers will be identified and acted upon. Also, those whose accounts have been rumoured to have spread on social media will be prosecuted and stringent action will be taken. DGP Guptaeshwar Pandey said that Bihar is under the rule of law, but the way people have killed two people on rumours is very sad. He said such incidents can be prevented in two ways. One then by showing fear of the law. Second, when people themselves start respecting the law. If an incident has occurred, the police will take action, but it has happened in these incidents that people have been targeted on the basis of rumours. The crowd has become furious and two people have been beaten to death.
