This company to set up 10,000 microgrids, will provide electricity to 50 lakh homes

Power company Tata Power has announced to set up a subsidiary named TP New Energy Microgrid for new power generation. This company will install 10,000 microgrids across the country, through which 50 lakh homes will be illuminated. Technical assistance will be taken from the Rockefeller Foundation in the establishment of TP new energy microgrid. Currently, the Rockefeller Foundation cannot hold a stake in the venture.

A statement issued by Tata Power stated that the company will strive to provide cheap, reliable and clean electricity in the country. Apart from this, this effort of the company is affected by the goal of providing electricity to 800 million people worldwide. Tata Power said that the company could install 10,000 microgrids of new energy throughout the country by 2026 to remove energy poverty from India.

Grids are mainly stations that connect two or more stations that produce electricity. One of the advantages of this is that in times of need, electricity can be transported or brought from places where there is more electricity in times of need. At present, a national grid has been established by combining five regional power grids across the country. Microgrids will in a way be the smallest grid, which will be limited to a few houses. According to the plan, Tata Power will install microgrids in rural areas across the country. These will generate electricity with the help of solar energy, which will be given free of cost to the concerned families. The electricity left after use will be sold to the national or regional grid.
