New Delhi: A CBI probe has been recommended by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Kumar Saxena over the Delhi government's new excise policy. After which, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleged that an attempt is being made to implicate Manish Sisodia. Here, the BJP has also completely attacked the Kejriwal government. BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi has taken a dig at Kejriwal while addressing a press conference on the issue. Meenakshi Lekhi said, "Kejriwal should not answer questions, it will not work, in a democracy, there is faith in voting, not alcoholism. Lekhi said there is a gang in Delhi, which is running it all. This happened during the Delta Wave of Corona. The contract was awarded to the blacklisted company. The people of Delhi have been cheated.'' Meenakshi Lekhi said, "Kejriwal ji, tell me that on October 25, 2021, the excise department had given a notice to the companies which were given liquor licences. What action has been taken in this case? On July 14, 2022, in a hurry without a cabinet note, a concession of Rs 144.36 crore was given to the same companies without following the law? If the procedure is not followed for that, then that deposit goes to the government treasury. But in this case, these Rs.30 crores were returned to that company without any approval and process.'' Meenakshi Lekhi said that, when the tender of L1 belongs to any company, then some earnest amount has to be paid before that tender. One company gave an earnest money deposit of Rs 30 crore. The decisions that they have taken in violation of the rules to benefit the liquor companies have only harmed the public. She further said that the excise policy was adopted illegally in Delhi. The people of Delhi have been cheated. Kejriwal ji should give full details of this scam on the basis of facts. What was the hurry that they had to sign on paper without setting an agenda?
